The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones “DANAT” concluded its training program on the art of jewellery design, which was launched in collaboration with Kooheji Jewellery during the twelfth edition of Youth City. This initiative is part of the Institute’s commitment to corporate social responsibility standards and its dedication to training and empowering Bahraini youth in the pearl and jewellery sector, and activating their role in implementing the national plan for pearl revival.

The program targeted young people aged between 18 and 35 years who are interested in the jewellery industry. A specialized team from “DANAT” educated the participants about the principles of diamonds and gemstones and various techniques used in this field. Meanwhile, another team from “Kooheji Jewellery” provided practical training on the arts of jewellery design and crafting.

The training program specifically focused on jewellery design science, where participants were trained on the basics of designing various models of jewellery and diamonds, the production process, plating and inspecting jewellery, drawing designs, and sketching structures for precious pieces. It also aimed to develop their skills and hone their abilities in the field of gemology, through a comprehensive set of outstanding workshops designed to build and develop young talents and capabilities.

At the end of the program, participants entered a competition to select the best jewellery design, where the winning piece will be crafted by “Kooheji Jewellery” and displayed at this year’s Arabian Jewellery Exhibition. A specialized team from “DANAT” will participate in the judging panel to select the winner.

On this occasion, Noora Jamsheer, the CEO of “DANAT,” affirmed that this training program stems from the Institute’s commitment to organizing initiatives that contribute to stimulating and growing the successes of Bahraini youth, providing them with training opportunities to acquire skills in various fields related to pearls and gemstones, and polishing their capabilities to make them the prime choice in the jewellery industry, noting the fruitful partnership with Kooheji Jewellery in this program.
